Green Fins #AlternativesToAnchoring Infographic release!

By: The Reef-World Foundation

#AlternativesToAnchoring is the second Action Point of the Green Fins IYOR 2018 social media campaign! If you have been following the campaign, you might have noticed that it aims to support divers and dive businesses to take further action by sharing and providing solutions to some of the biggest threats. By doing so we will be saving coral reefs from mass extinction and the livelihoods of the more than 200 million people who depend on healthy and balanced coral reef ecosystems.

Do you know exactly how an anchor can damage marine ecosystems? What are environmentally friendly alternatives? There is no one answer when it comes to finding alternatives to anchoring, however, this campaign will serve as a platform to inspire action and change in others by sharing the stories of success gathered by more than 10 years of working with the industry.

Find ALL the solutions to these and more questions on the NEWLY RELEASED infographic:

Thanks to Dive.in magazine to help us develop the infographic!

40 Issues from SEVENSEAS!

Welcome to the 40th issue at SEVENSEAS Media! it has been a long road and those readers that have been following from the beginning are familiar with the many shapes and designs this small nonprofit media outlet has taken over the years.

Did you know that SEVENSEAS Media is run by one person on nearly zero revenue? One UNPAID individual (Hint: that’s me!). I have had some great help from volunteers, writers, photographers, and have gotten lots of virtual high fives from the community but it is time to secure a future for this free resource. SEVENSEAS Media offers free capacity building tools, outreach, and professional development resources to anyone and everyone in marine conservation.

I am asking for any connections to organizations, brands, or donors that would like to help make sure this resource stays around for the long term. If you don’t know anyone that can help in the big picture, please think about a tax deductible donation here. If a donation isn’t in the cards then you can help by spreading the word. The more people that subscribe to, contribute to, and visit sevenseasmedia.org the larger our network grows and the stronger our conservation impact.

Since the launch of SEVENSEAS, we have literally influenced the world. Just check out the Google Analytics screen shots I took yesterday.
