Even adventurers need a vacation sometimes and there’s no better place than Koh Tao. Are you ready for a beach trip like this?

Koh Tao is one of Thailand’s most popular tourist destinations, famous for scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, rock climbing, and bouldering. The influx of visitors has negatively effected the ecosystem though there are now a number of groups and agencies that are aiming to monitor and restore. The island is an important breeding ground for hawksbill and green turtles whose populations dropped dramatically with unregulated development. A 2004 breeding program in partnership with the Thai government and local dive shops reintroduced hundreds of juvenile turtles to the island’s ecosystem and brought numbers back to sustainable levels.
