Discovery Lab returns in August with a look at wetlands. Mark your calendar for this free, family-friendly program that includes activities and a short presentation. Discovery Labs are presented by the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (CBNERR) at VIMS.
Tidal wetlands are found all along the Chesapeake Bay and have many vital ecological functions – from acting as nursery grounds for local species to helping buffer shorelines from storm surge and tides. Join Dr. Robert Isdell, a VIMS Assistant Research Scientist, to explore tidal wetlands and what the future holds for these important ecosystems.
