Copyright and DMCA Policy

SEVENSEAS Media is a non-profit ocean conservation platform that publishes contributions from a global network of writers, photographers, and volunteers. All contributors are responsible for ensuring that the text, images, and materials they submit are their own original work or are properly licensed for publication on SEVENSEAS Media.

SEVENSEAS Media makes reasonable efforts to verify content but, given the volume and global nature of submissions, cannot independently confirm the licensing status of every submitted work. We respect the rights of creators and are committed to resolving any concerns transparently and in good faith.

Notice of Claimed Infringement (DMCA Takedown)

If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that material on SEVENSEAS Media infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our Designated Agent that includes the following, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list).
3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (please include the full URL).
4. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact the complaining party, including a mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
5. A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Counter-Notification

If you believe that material you submitted to SEVENSEAS Media was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notification to our Designated Agent containing the elements set forth in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3).

Repeat Infringers

SEVENSEAS Media maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the contributor privileges of any individual or organization that is determined to be a repeat infringer of copyright.
