The UK-based marine conservation charity, The Reef-World Foundation, is thrilled to announce its success in securing a spot on Ocean Outdoor’s annual Drops In The Ocean environmental fund. As part of this fund, Reef-World has been awarded £335,000 worth of out-of-home (OOH) advertising space on Ocean Outdoor’s digital screens across the UK.

This significant win not only presents an advertising opportunity for Ref-World’s mission but also serves as a profound endorsement of Reef-World’s commitment to marine conservation. The partnership with Drops in the Ocean will enable Reef-World to amplify its impact, raise awareness of coral reef protection, and further its mission of conserving and protecting the oceans.

Receiving the fund through advertising value will translate into tangible support for The Reef-World Foundation’s initiatives, empowering the organisation to reach broader audiences and foster change on a global scale. This will create a ripple effect, extending Reef-World’s reach and influence in the marine conservation space, making each drop in the ocean count toward a sustainable future.

Chloe Harvey, Executive Director of The Reef-World Foundation, commented, “Winning Drops in the Ocean signifies more than just an advertising opportunity for us at Reef-World. As a small but growing UK charity dedicated to marine conservation, it is a profound endorsement of our commitment to saving the reefs and safeguarding our oceans for future generations. This recognition will not only elevate our voice but also strengthen our drive to push for positive change.”

Charities receive advertising space across Ocean’s extensive digital network, amplifying their messages on a large scale. Drops in the Ocean provides charities and causes with the opportunity to appear across some of Ocean Group’s 8,631 plus premium DOOH advertising locations in 834 cities.

About Green Fins

Green Fins Logo 2022

Green Fins is a proven conservation management approach – spearheaded by The Reef-World Foundation in partnership with the UN Environment Programme – which leads to a measurable reduction in the negative environmental impacts associated with the marine tourism industry. The initiative aims to protect and conserve coral reefs through environmentally friendly guidelines that promote a sustainable diving and snorkelling tourism industry. It provides the only internationally recognised environmental standards for the diving and snorkelling industry and has a robust assessment system to measure compliance.

Green Fins encourages and empowers members of the diving industry to act to reduce the pressures on coral reefs by offering dive and snorkel companies practical, low-cost alternatives to harmful practices – such as anchoring, fish feeding and chemical pollution – as well as providing strategic training, support and resources. By reducing the local direct and indirect pressures tourism puts on coral reefs, it helps make corals healthier and more resilient to other stresses such as the effects of climate change. Look for the Green Fins logo when booking your next dive trip.
