The Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) is a rapidly growing leader in wildlife conservation, working to reverse crises facing threatened species through three main strategies: a Partner Network, Wildlife Funds offering flexible grants, and Rising Wildlife Leaders supporting local conservationists. WCN is looking for a highly organised individual to provide administrative and contractual support across all stages of the grants lifecycle, project management, and coordination for the Rhino Recovery Fund (RRF) and Wildlife Veterinary Program (VET).

Key responsibilities include grant administration and financial services (managing all stages of the grant administration and contracting process including drafting agreements, compliance documentation, amendments, and payments, managing Wildlife Fund databases, tracking key metrics, serving as coordinator between the Wildlife Funds and the WCN Finance Department, and upholding compliance and due diligence standards), programme coordination and support (providing central administrative support and project management for one or more Wildlife Funds, assisting leadership in compiling programme metrics, supporting Granting Committee and Leadership Team meetings, managing reporting processes, and coordinating logistics for internal Fund meetings, granting committee sessions, and donor events), and communications and donor engagement (providing logistical and materials support for donor engagement, supporting the development of proposals and reports, serving as a liaison to the WCN Communications Team, and supporting fundraising efforts). Programmatic grantee relationships are led by the Associate Director and Director.

Experience and skills sought include a bachelor’s or higher degree with a minimum of five years of experience in grants management or a related administrative field, strong computer literacy with the ability to work in databases such as Salesforce and Google Suite, a strong understanding of the conservation sector and how conservation NGOs function with preference for related grant management experience, professional written and spoken English proficiency (French or Swahili preferred), strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, the ability to absorb and process large volumes of complex financial and scientific information, strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, and the ability to travel internationally including occasional travel to the field. Priority is given to citizens or permanent residents of countries in Africa. Compensation is competitive and dependent on qualifications, experience, and location, and relocation assistance is not available.
