The Rainforest Alliance is recruiting a Public Relations & External Engagement Lead in the Office of the CEO to amplify the global presence of its CEO and Executive Leadership Team. The role will ensure the Rainforest Alliance’s leadership voice is strategic, impactful and visible in the world’s most important conversations, securing opportunities on global platforms and with government leaders that enhance the organisation’s mission, and creating narratives that position the CEO as a thought leader in sustainability, climate, and human rights.

Responsibilities include being a trusted advisor to the CEO, ensuring external engagements align with organisational priorities and global impact goals; acting as a connector between internal teams and external stakeholders, translating organisational strategy into a compelling leadership presence; developing the strategy to drive the CEO’s impact and visibility; identifying and securing strategic external engagement opportunities; building and maintaining external relationships to amplify the CEO’s voice; developing creative strategies to position the CEO as a recognised voice in sustainability, climate action, social justice and human rights; creating compelling briefs, talking points and narratives ensuring consistency, authenticity and alignment with the Rainforest Alliance’s 2030 strategy; partnering with internal teams to develop the CEO-level social media presence; creating storylines that connect the Rainforest Alliance’s mission to current global debates ensuring consistency across media, events and internal and external communications; and focusing on the orchestration and strategic deployment of events.

Required qualifications include a background in public relations with a pulse on global trends and media engagement skills; 7+ years of experience as a senior advisor with a proven track record of influencing at executive levels; the ability to secure high-value visibility opportunities for senior leadership; exceptional storytelling and narrative skills; a deep understanding of both external engagement and internal communication dynamics including social media and current events; a collaborative mindset; strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity; a proactive, results-oriented approach with a global outlook; and a deep commitment to the Rainforest Alliance’s mission.
