Ocean Finance Stakeholder Consultation Consultant

Catalytic Finance Foundation is recruiting an Ocean Finance Stakeholder Consultation Consultant to lead structured stakeholder consultations across the Foundation’s ocean finance work. The Foundation works at the intersection of finance, conservation and policy to develop and scale catalytic financing solutions that unlock public, private and philanthropic capital for ocean ecosystems.

The Consultant will design and lead stakeholder engagement and consultation processes that inform the development of new financing instruments, programmes and partnerships. The role works with the Foundation’s leadership and partners to ensure that ocean finance solutions are co-developed with the stakeholders who will use, fund, regulate or benefit from them, including governments, investors, conservation organisations, fishing industry representatives, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and scientific experts.

Responsibilities include designing stakeholder consultation processes for the Foundation’s priority initiatives; identifying and convening stakeholder groups; facilitating consultations, interviews, workshops and surveys; synthesising consultation outputs into reports and recommendations; contributing to the Foundation’s strategy, programme design and partnerships; and supporting communications around consultation processes.

Required qualifications include significant experience in stakeholder consultation, participatory facilitation or policy engagement at the international level; understanding of ocean finance, conservation finance, blended finance or related fields; the ability to work with diverse stakeholders across sectors, geographies and cultures; excellent facilitation and written and verbal communication skills; experience with Indigenous Peoples and local communities is highly desirable; the ability to travel internationally; and strong project management skills.
