North West Coastal Forum

The North West Coastal Forum is recruiting a Coordinator to lead its work supporting integrated coastal management across North West England. The Forum is a partnership of local authorities, statutory agencies, NGOs, businesses and communities working together to protect, manage and enhance the coast of Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside.

Responsibilities include coordinating the Forum’s day-to-day operations and partnerships; supporting member organisations and stakeholders; facilitating cross-sector learning and collaboration; managing communications including newsletters, the website and social media; supporting grant fundraising and reporting; organising Forum events, workshops and meetings; representing the Forum to external stakeholders including Defra, the Environment Agency, Natural England and the Marine Management Organisation; and contributing to coastal policy and strategy development.

The role requires experience in partnership coordination, community engagement or environmental programme management; understanding of coastal management issues in North West England; strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with fundraising and reporting; the ability to work independently from a home base; and regular travel across the North West coast. Knowledge of UK coastal policy, marine planning and flood and coastal erosion risk management is highly desirable.
