The Climate Reality Project
The Climate Reality Project is recruiting a Multimedia Senior Associate to conceptualise, design and produce original multimedia content that advances the organisation’s digital communications strategy. Founded by former US Vice President Al Gore, the Climate Reality Project’s mission is to catalyse a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every sector of society. The organisation recruits, trains and mobilises people from more than 190 countries and territories, with a global network of over 4.5 million people and regional branches around the world. Its strategy combines signature trainings to grow the climate movement and build political will for policy solutions, with three key areas of focus: reducing emissions, financing a just transition, and strengthening international cooperation around climate.
Working closely with the Communications Director, the Multimedia Senior Associate applies strong creative judgement within established brand and creative direction to develop visual storytelling across video, web, social media, print and presentations. The position translates creative direction into compelling visual assets for global campaigns, trainings and communications initiatives. The role executes projects with a high degree of ownership guided by creative direction and project briefs, and may provide guidance or technical expertise to colleagues on multimedia design and visual storytelling.
Responsibilities include translating creative direction and strategic goals from the Communications Director into fresh, on-brand visual assets, recognisable content series and functional design systems; producing and editing videos for course modules (long-form), social media (short-form), the website and other organisational needs while applying artistic talent to develop compelling narratives; designing and producing original graphics across digital and print mediums including pitch decks, email content, social media, web page elements and print; managing and prioritising multiple creative projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of artistic quality and brand alignment; managing day-to-day production independently with strategic direction from the Communications Director, from concept development through final delivery; contributing to the consistency and evolution of the organisation’s visual identity across platforms; and contributing to the ongoing improvement of operations and enrichment of culture through working groups, onboarding and culture-strengthening efforts.
Required skills include a portfolio reflecting strong visual judgement, creativity, vision and attention to detail; strong proficiency in Canva; skills in at least two of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, CapCut or Instagram Reels; the ability to work within and elevate established brand systems; excellent communication skills; the ability to perform prolonged periods of desk-based work; and the ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally.
Education and experience requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 1 to 3+ years of experience in a multimedia design or video-editing role (in-house, agency or freelance); experience designing for digital-first environments and multi-channel campaigns; experience designing across a broad range of materials (digital, print, merchandise, events) and informing video production or photography; experience with managing Canva Teams and building Canva templates for scalable distributed use is highly desired; an understanding of the type of visuals that ‘stop the scroll’ on social media; and familiarity with project management systems (Climate Reality uses Wrike).
