Description

ERM is hiring a Marine Environmental Consultant in Perth, Australia, to support environmental impact assessments across renewables, oil and gas, mining, and infrastructure projects in marine and coastal environments, with applications closing 30 June 2026.

The Marine Environmental Consultant joins a multidisciplinary team in Perth and connects with ERM’s global marine science technical community, contributing to large-scale capital developments including a growing portfolio of decommissioning work.


Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of environmental impact assessments in marine and coastal environments.
  • Contribute to large-scale capital development projects spanning renewables, oil and gas, mining, and infrastructure.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary project teams and engage with ERM’s global marine science community.
  • Record, input, and manage technical data, and prepare reports for clients and regulators.
  • Follow established health and safety protocols and demonstrate strong commitment to safety.
  • Handle multiple project assignments simultaneously and meet strict deadlines in a consulting environment.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in marine science, environmental science, environmental management, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in marine and coastal ecosystems, potential threats, coastal management issues, and protection strategies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Australian working rights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualifications such as Honours or Masters.
  • One to two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in environmental consultancy, environmental regulation, or industry.
  • Understanding of Australian environmental approvals processes.
  • Experience with data management software or databases.
