Manager, Coastal Resilience

National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF)

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) is recruiting a Manager of Coastal Resilience to support the Foundation’s growing portfolio of coastal resilience grants and partnerships. NFWF is the largest private conservation grant-maker in the US, working with public and private partners to direct conservation investments to high-impact projects across the country. The Foundation’s coastal resilience portfolio supports the protection and restoration of coastal habitats, the implementation of natural infrastructure, and the building of community and ecosystem resilience to coastal hazards including hurricanes, flooding, sea level rise and erosion.

The Manager of Coastal Resilience supports the design and delivery of NFWF’s coastal resilience programmes, including the National Coastal Resilience Fund and other regional and partner programmes. Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of grants from solicitation through award through completion; designing and managing requests for proposals; reviewing and evaluating grant applications; conducting site visits and providing technical support to grantees; reporting on programme outcomes and impacts; engaging with federal, state and local government partners, NGOs, scientific partners and donors; supporting fundraising and partnership development; and contributing to the Foundation’s broader coastal and marine strategy.

Required qualifications include a relevant degree (coastal science, marine science, environmental science, planning or related); 3–5 years of relevant experience in coastal resilience, coastal restoration, natural infrastructure, coastal hazards or related; demonstrated experience with grants management, project management or applied programme work; understanding of US coastal policy, federal and state agencies (NOAA, US Army Corps of Engineers, USFWS, state coastal programmes), and the broader coastal conservation sector; strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders; and commitment to coastal conservation and resilience.

Applications should be submitted via the NFWF ADP careers portal with a CV and covering letter.
