Description

Environment Bank is hiring a Land Assistant in the United Kingdom, a full-time position supporting the Land Team across an expanding pipeline of Biodiversity Net Gain projects.

Environment Bank works to restore natural habitats across England, with thousands of acres of new habitat creation already underway delivering biodiversity gains and helping ecosystems recover. The team includes ecologists, land managers, habitat specialists, geospatial analysts, planning advisors, account managers, digital creatives, and legal experts working toward the goal of reversing biodiversity loss.

The Land Assistant supports the Land Team in the efficient identification, assessment, and onboarding of land opportunities. Working closely with senior land colleagues, the role provides administrative and operational support across multiple sites at various stages of the project lifecycle, freeing senior staff to focus on strategic land acquisition, negotiations, and partnership development.


Responsibilities

  • Support the identification of potential land opportunities through research and land searches.
  • Support the onboarding process for new sites, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with land ownership checks, title reviews, and initial due diligence activities.
  • Collate and review environmental and planning constraints data for prospective sites.
  • Maintain and update CRM systems and internal land databases with accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement, including liaising with landowners and external partners.
  • Record and track landowner interactions and correspondence.
  • Prepare site onboarding forms, reports, and internal briefing documents.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a land, property, environmental, or administrative role, or a relevant internship or placement.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in data entry and document management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience using CRM or database systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret maps, land ownership information, and planning or environmental data.
  • Interest in biodiversity, environmental markets, or land management.

  • Full-time, contract role.
  • Hybrid flexible working option, with regional and departmental team co-working days.
