AFRY is hiring an E&S Coordinator for Hydropower based in Bangkok, Thailand, a permanent full-time hybrid role coordinating Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessments (ESHIA) and related E&S activities across international projects.

In the Asia-Pacific region, AFRY operates from Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Hanoi, Singapore, Pune, Noida, and Taipei, supporting energy and infrastructure projects across the region.
This role expands AFRY’s environmental and social advisory services in the hydropower sector. The E&S Coordinator supports project delivery across Asia and other international markets, working at the interface of internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and authorities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate environmental and social activities across hydropower projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines, scope, and quality standards.
- Support and contribute to the preparation of Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessments (ESHIA).
- Act as a key interface between internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth communication and project execution.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage inputs from various stakeholders involved in E&S and ESHIA deliverables.
- Review, draft, and quality-check technical reports and documentation prepared by internal teams or subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with international environmental and social standards (IFC, ADB, Equator Principles).
- Support stakeholder engagement activities, including coordination with authorities and local stakeholders.
- Contribute to project delivery through collaboration, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing within international teams.
- Participate in project assignments across Asia, Africa, and Europe as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, GIS, or related field from a reputable university.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in ESHIA or ESIA preparation.
- At least 2 years of experience coordinating E&S activities.
- Strong knowledge of international E&S standards (IFC Performance Standards, ADB Safeguard Policy, Equator Principles).
- Excellent communication skills with strong cultural awareness.
- Fluent in Thai and English (spoken and written), with strong report-writing capability.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and coordinate across multiple parties.
- Strong teamwork mindset, proactive attitude, and willingness to learn and support others.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Social specialisation (resettlement, livelihood restoration, anthropology).
- Prior experience in hydropower projects.
