Description

MGen (Meralco PowerGen) is hiring an Environmental Officer based in Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines, a probationary full-time role supporting environmental compliance and sustainability across renewable energy operations.

MGen is the power generation arm of Meralco, supporting renewable energy projects across the Philippines. The Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) function ensures compliance, mitigates environmental impact, and drives sustainability performance across corporate and site operations.

The Environmental Officer supports the Environmental Head in ensuring environmental compliance, mitigating environmental impacts, and meeting sustainability performance targets across the company’s renewable energy operations.

Responsibilities

Environmental Management System:

• Support implementation, maintenance, and improvement of ISO 14001.
• Support Environmental Aspect-Impact Assessment.
• Support internal and external audits.

Regulatory compliance and permits:

• Oversee and assist with the timely acquisition and renewal of environmental permits.
• Act as liaison with environmental regulatory agencies.
• Ensure all renewable energy operations are in full compliance.

Waste and resource sustainability:

• Assist in implementing comprehensive waste management programs, including hazardous waste storage and solar panel recycling.
• Assist in implementing resource-efficiency measures for water and energy conservation across corporate and site facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental and Sanitary Engineering, or related field.
• Accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO).
• 4 to 7 years of work experience in environmental management.
• Background in audits and environmental regulations.
