Description

Assured Environmental (AE) is hiring an Environment Consultant in Noise based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, a full-time on-site role delivering monitoring, modelling, and other consulting and research projects in noise and acoustics.

Assured Environmental serves clients across Australia in the fields of environmental monitoring and consulting, with particular strength in noise and acoustics. The Brisbane team supports environmental impact assessments, development applications, and noise management plans across a wide range of project types.

The Environment Consultant provides high-quality service to clients by undertaking noise monitoring, modelling, and consulting work, contributing to project teams and supporting senior managers across project delivery and client engagement.


Responsibilities

  • Undertake projects and develop management plans for assessing noise sources and their environmental impact.
  • Contribute to environmental impact assessments and development applications across a wide range of projects.
  • Propose solutions to technical problems and methods to mitigate environmental impact.
  • Provide data on background noise and project impacts to inform planning of management strategies.
  • Contribute and undertake tasks for project managers, supervisors, and the management team.
  • Undertake ambient noise monitoring.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration, and repair; arrange for sample analysis.
  • Enter data and results into spreadsheets and prepare reports.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including quality assurance and safety; prepare timesheets and expense claims daily.
  • Travel to sites as required.
  • Foster good client relationships and meet or exceed expectations.
  • Prepare and submit proposals within the time frame requested by clients and follow up submissions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge of current and emerging noise assessment issues.

Requirements

  • Three-year university degree in science or engineering relevant to air quality or noise (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental or Civil Engineering, or related Atmospheric or Environmental Science).
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a demonstrated strong work ethic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
  • Excellent communication and English report-writing skills; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule expectations.
  • Light vehicle driver licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia.
  • Up to 5 years of experience in noise.

  • Full-time, on-site position in Brisbane.
