Dive Center Operations Manager

Murex Resorts is hiring a Dive Center Operations Manager to oversee dive operations across its properties in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The role is on-site in a remote island and resort environment and includes accommodation. Work permit sponsorship is available for qualified international applicants. Murex Resorts operates in the Bunaken National Marine Park, Bangka, Lembeh, and surrounding areas, offering world-class diving and a long-standing commitment to local communities and reef stewardship.

The Operations Manager leads day-to-day dive centre operations across multiple resort sites, including instructor and guide scheduling, gear maintenance and inventory, boat operations and logistics, training schedules, and dive safety procedures. The role works closely with resort management, the marketing team, and external partners to deliver an exceptional guest experience, hit operational and safety standards, and support continuous improvement of dive products and services. The Manager also coordinates with reservations, hospitality, and finance teams to align operations with broader resort priorities.

Additional responsibilities include developing and mentoring a multinational dive team, supporting recruitment of instructors and dive guides, maintaining alignment with PADI and other agency standards, championing environmentally responsible diving practices, and supporting Murex programmes that protect coral reefs and engage local communities. The Manager prepares operations reports, monitors KPIs, and contributes to budget planning and forecasting for the dive operation.

Required qualifications include significant experience managing a multi-site dive operation; current scuba instructor credentials (PADI, SSI, or equivalent); strong knowledge of dive safety, boat operations, and equipment maintenance; demonstrated leadership and team-building skills in a multicultural setting; and willingness to live and work in a remote island/resort environment. Fluency in English is required; Bahasa Indonesia or other languages are a plus. Experience working in Indonesia or Southeast Asia and a background in hospitality, marine tourism, or marine conservation are desirable.
