OceanX is a nonprofit working to unlock the ocean’s sustainable potential through a dual focus on science and education, and is a nonprofit operating programme of Dalio Philanthropies. The organisation is seeking a Director of Business Operations (Singapore) to oversee and scale its Singapore office while serving as a strategic operational partner to senior leadership. Reporting to the Global Chief Operating Officer, the role leads office operations, drives operational excellence, and supports the execution of organisational priorities across the APAC region, leading day-to-day office operations, building scalable operational processes, and supporting cross-functional coordination across global operations, finance, people, legal and programmatic functions.
Duties include acting as a trusted operational partner to leadership; leading day-to-day operations of the Singapore office; implementing scalable processes, systems and controls; translating strategic priorities into actionable operational plans; driving cross-functional coordination and serving as the primary liaison between the Singapore office and New York headquarters; developing reporting frameworks and monitoring KPIs; supporting budgeting, forecasting, expense management and resource allocation; overseeing office planning, vendor management and administrative operations; partnering with leadership on hiring and team development; and ensuring compliance with local regulations and risk management practices.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, finance or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred); at least 15 years of relevant experience in operations, business management or consulting, preferably within international or multi-office organisations; demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams; strong organisational, project management and execution skills; demonstrated financial acumen; and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience supporting operations across APAC and familiarity with the Singapore business and regulatory environment are preferred.
