Description
SLR Consulting is hiring a Consultant for the Climate and Nature Advisory team based in Brisbane, Australia, a full-time early-career position serving clients across the APAC region.

The Consultant joins SLR’s Climate and Nature Advisory team in Brisbane and works on a wide range of sustainability projects across APAC, including alignment with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), climate risk and scenario analysis, GHG emissions accounting (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), net-zero and decarbonisation strategy, renewable energy and fleet transition planning, nature strategy, and TNFD.
Responsibilities
- Deliver projects: support end-to-end delivery of climate strategy work, including:
- Gather data using interviews, surveys, focus groups, and data requests.
- Use data analysis tools (Excel, GIS) to create tailored reports and, where relevant, model and build scenarios.
- Support the development of presentations and reports with a clear narrative that informs client decisions.
- Support growth: contribute to business development by helping senior colleagues deliver high-quality proposals and developing client loyalty through quality work.
- Develop skills: learn through experience, the SLR learning and development programme, and exposure to industry conferences and webinars.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in a related discipline (Master degree preferred).
- Understanding of core concepts of climate science.
- Passion and interest in sustainability and sustainable business.
- Demonstrate understanding of some aspects of climate and nature strategy, such as climate risk assessments and scenario analysis, GHG accounting (including Scope 3), net-zero and carbon-neutral frameworks (including SBTi), decarbonisation strategy and implementation roadmaps, TNFD, Nature Positive, and Nature-based Solutions.
- Working understanding of the core requirements of ASRS and IFRS S2.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver client-ready presentations.
- Ability to distil quantitative and qualitative data and communicate it succinctly.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
