Watatunga Wildlife Reserve is recruiting Conservation Volunteers in Norfolk, England, an unpaid, part-time role with monthly volunteer days, ages 18+, and tools and training provided.
Watatunga Wildlife Reserve, based in East Anglia, manages a working landscape across Norfolk dedicated to local biodiversity, habitat restoration, and wildlife conservation. The reserve hosts hands-on conservation work alongside ecological education programs.
This volunteer programme suits people who love being outdoors and want to contribute to local biodiversity without the commitment of weekly hours. Responsibilities
Tasks vary by season. Volunteer days may include:
Habitat management:
- Remove invasive species.
- Cut back overgrowth and maintain sightlines.
- Support wetland, woodland, or grassland restoration.
- Create and maintain wildlife corridors.
Practical land work:
- Clear and prepare areas for new habitats.
- Litter pick and tidy the site.
- Conduct basic maintenance such as fence repairs and path clearing.
Wildlife support and monitoring:
- Help set up or maintain nest boxes, camera traps, and feeding sites.
- Record observations and assist with basic wildlife monitoring.
Requirements
- Aged 18 or older.
- Enjoy physical outdoor work in all seasons.
- Passionate about wildlife and the environment.
- Able to follow safety guidance and work as part of a team.
- Reliable and able to commit to monthly volunteer days.
- Own transport to the site.
