Description

Tåno Tåsi yan Todu (TTT) is hiring a full-time, grant-funded Conservation Project Manager based in Guåhan (Guam), paying $67,500 per year, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Tåno Tåsi yan Todu is a mission-driven nonprofit working to restore and steward the lands and waters of the Mariana Islands for the people of the Mariana Islands. The organisation works alongside government agencies, researchers, community partners, and CHamoru cultural practitioners across Guam and the broader Mariana Islands.

The Conservation Project Manager translates ecological science, field knowledge, and community priorities into clear, actionable conservation plans and coordinated projects, with two priority efforts: leading biological and technical synthesis for the Guam Avifauna Management Plan, and serving as Eradication Project Manager for the Islan Dåno’ (Cocos Island) Brown Treesnake (BTS) Eradication.


Responsibilities

  • Synthesise ecological research, monitoring data, and existing management plans to inform conservation priorities.
  • Develop and support implementation of conservation strategies, management plans, and technical guidance.
  • Identify key threats, opportunities, and priority actions for ecosystem restoration and species recovery.
  • Integrate ecological, spatial, and cultural knowledge into conservation planning.
  • Support development of monitoring frameworks and adaptive management approaches.
  • Coordinate conservation initiatives across partner organisations including agencies, NGOs, and research institutions.
  • Develop operational plans, workplans, and implementation strategies for conservation projects.
  • Facilitate collaboration among project partners and technical experts.
  • Track project progress and prepare reports for funders and partners.
  • Strengthen collaboration around conservation initiatives across the Mariana Islands.
  • Integrate CHamoru cultural knowledge, language, and stewardship values into conservation planning and implementation.
  • Prepare clear materials that communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Participate in fieldwork related to conservation projects as needed.
  • Support data management, analysis, and interpretation to inform project decisions.
  • Contribute to evaluation of conservation outcomes and program learning.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in ecology, wildlife biology, conservation, natural resources, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality technical writing (management plans, reports, protocols, or collaborative publications).
  • Experience coordinating work across multiple partners such as agencies, NGOs, universities, and community groups.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesise complex scientific information into clear, actionable plans.
  • Commitment to place-based conservation and collaborative stewardship.
  • Must be based in Guåhan, with field visits to Islan Dåno’ (Cocos Island) and occasional travel to the CNMI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with island conservation, ecosystem restoration, or invasive species management.
  • Familiarity with the conservation challenges and ecosystems of the Mariana Islands or similar island systems.
  • Experience coordinating multi-partner conservation initiatives.
  • GIS or spatial planning experience.
  • Field experience in ecological monitoring or conservation implementation.
  • Experience with island invasive species eradication, biosecurity planning, or rapid response programs.
  • Brown Treesnake ecology or management.
  • Avian ecology.
