Coastal Communities Network Coordinator
Coastal Communities Network (CCN)
The Coastal Communities Network (CCN) is recruiting a Network Coordinator to lead and support its growing network of community-based marine conservation groups across Scotland. CCN brings together coastal community organisations working to protect and restore Scotland’s seas, with member groups operating from the Inner Hebrides to the Solway and from Shetland to the Solent. The Coordinator works at the heart of CCN, ensuring members are connected, supported and amplified in their work.
Responsibilities include coordinating the network’s day-to-day operations, supporting member groups in their advocacy and project delivery, facilitating cross-network learning and collaboration, managing communications including newsletters and social media, supporting grant fundraising and reporting, organising network events and meetings, and representing CCN to external stakeholders including Marine Scotland, NatureScot and other statutory bodies.
The role requires experience in network coordination, community engagement or NGO programme management; understanding of marine conservation issues in Scotland; strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with fundraising and reporting; comfort working independently from a home base; and the ability to travel regularly across Scotland’s coastal communities. Knowledge of Scottish marine policy and the Marine (Scotland) Act is highly desirable.
The role is hosted by the Scottish Wildlife Trust and reports to CCN’s steering group. Applications should be submitted via the CCN website with a CV and covering letter outlining motivation for the role and how the candidate meets the person specification.
