De Palm Watersports is hiring a Catamaran Boat Captain based in Oranjestad, Aruba, to lead catamaran tours, focusing on customer service, safety, and on-board operations.

De Palm Watersports is part of De Palm Tours, a long-running Aruba-based tour operator offering watersports, snorkel, and catamaran experiences. The captain role sits within the operations of the watersports division.

The Captain ensures punctuality, effective crew communication, safety, and a fun atmosphere on board the catamaran. The role coaches crew on sailing, safety, and maintenance procedures, manages inventory and vessel cleanliness, and supports daily check-ins, boarding, and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure punctuality and report absences or delays to the Operations Manager Watersport.
• Facilitate effective communication between crew and captains.
• Create a safe and professional atmosphere on board.
• Create a fun atmosphere on board.
• Coach crew on sailing, safety, and maintenance procedures.
• Manage inventory and cleanliness of the vessel.
• Assist with cost control and maintenance planning.
• Oversee onboard safety, customer service, and mechanical reporting.
• Support daily check-ins, boarding, and incident reporting.
• Adapt to flexible schedules for private charters.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and employee guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum E.P.B. or equivalent.
• Kleinvaarbewijs licence (required).
• 2+ years of sailing and snorkel instruction experience.
• Languages: English, Spanish, and Papiamento. Dutch is a plus.
• Strong swimmer including rescue, with leadership, communication, customer focus, flexibility, and team orientation.
