Jamie Fitzgerald, an Ocean Conservationist & Partnerships Lead at Edges of Earth Collective

Jamie is a marketing and communications consultant, conservationist, and PADI Divemaster who has dedicated her career to advancing impactful solutions for people and the planet. With over a decade of experience, Jamie has built a diverse career at the intersection of marine conservation, community engagement, and strategic storytelling.

Jamie’s hands-on work in marine conservation began in the field, where she contributed to coastal restoration and conservation projects, including marine species monitoring off Cape Cod and in the Gulf of Mexico. Her career expanded to include community organizing, campaign development, and fundraising for coastal resilience initiatives in New Orleans. She has also conducted coral reef ecology research and dived extensively throughout the Caribbean and Central America, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges facing marine ecosystems and the opportunities for impactful solutions.

In addition to her fieldwork, Jamie has played a pivotal role in amplifying conservation efforts on a global scale. She has led international campaigns to highlight scientific research and ocean exploration, forged relationships with multinational brands and media partners, and helped secure millions of dollars in funding for marine conservation. Jamie has also partnered with organizations such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, working to create global coursework for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and collaborated with marketing firms, boutique agencies, and nonprofits to elevate their missions and impact.

Today, Jamie works with nonprofit and for-profit organizations to drive lasting change by building partnerships, designing campaigns, and creating innovative solutions around critical causes. As a key member of the Edges of Earth expedition team, she plays an instrumental role in forging relationships with nonprofits, conservationists, scientists and grassroots leaders worldwide, helping to amplify their efforts and tell their stories in ways they have not been done before. Whether she’s connecting with organizations on the ground or collaborating with international teams, Jamie bridges the gap between conservation science and global audiences, ensuring that impactful work reaches those who need to hear it most.

A member of The Explorer’s Club, Jamie splits her time between Jupiter, Florida, and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. You can find her on the beach or underwater, as she’s driven by a lifelong passion for the ocean and a commitment to protecting it in any way that she can.
