GOT BAG, an eco-friendly, outdoor & lifestyle travel brand that has developed the world’s first backpacks made of ocean plastic, announces it has teamed up with Coral Gardeners to create a unique collection of GOT BAGs to raise awareness for reef conservation.
The GOT BAG x Coral Gardeners collection consists of three specially designed versions of the iconic black ROLLTOP, ROLLTOP LITE, and HIP BAG models. Each bag features a glossy image of a coral in a subtle tone matching the bag’s fabric. Because the image and the bag are the same color, the coral is primarily visible when light shines on it or is reflected off it.
”At the end of the day, we’re all working for the same goal, dream, and vision to have a healthy, beautiful ocean for all the centuries to come. So this collaboration is part of the change, the solution, and I’m happy we are launching this.” – Titouan Bernicot, founder of Coral Gardeners.
Two impactful things will happen with every purchase.
- GOT BAG recycles up to 7.7 pounds of plastic from the ocean for each bag.
- The customer will also adopt a coral from Coral Gardner’s adopt-a-coral program.
“Every piece of plastic we take out is one less piece of plastic polluting our oceans. We believe every little bit helps. Collaborating with like-minded organizations and people helps us achieve more and make a bigger impact,” said Benjamin Mandos, founder of GOT BAG.
Coral reefs serve as a refuge for small fish to protect them from predators. They also serve as nurseries for fish and animals living in the ocean. Furthermore, coral reefs function as natural windbreakers to prevent waves from growing too high or hitting too far inland.
The collaboration bags cost $159,00 for the ROLLTOP model, $149,00 for the ROLLTOP LITE and $49,00 for the HIP BAG. To shop or learn more, visit got us.got-bag.com/. To learn more about Coral Gardeners visitcoralgardeners.org
About GOT BAG
GOT BAG is a social-first fashion brand dedicated to raising awareness and cleaning our oceans from plastic pollution. The brand launched in North America in October 2020. To help create a plastic-free future for our oceans, GOT BAG collects and recycles up to 9.9 pounds of plastic from the ocean for every GOT BAG made. To date, GOT BAG’s efforts have recovered and recycled more than 1 million pounds of plastic from the ocean. Benjamin Mandos founded GOT BAG while on a sailing trip in Southeast Asia. He was shocked by the images of the floating garbage patches mainly formed of plastic. He knew he did to do something about it and launched the company in 2016. GOT BAG wants to create awareness about the amount of plastic we use and to encourage people to think circularly. https://us.g ot-bag.com/
About Coral Gardners
Coral Gardners was born in 2017 in Mo’orea, the sister island of Tahiti, in French Polynesia. The team started as a small group of island kids who witnessed the rapid degradation of their local reef and decided to act. From their humble beginnings, they have grown today into an international collective of advocates, scientists, engineers, and creators determined to revolutionize ocean conservation and create a global movement to save the reef.
