- Salary/Compensation: $51,046 to $66,669 annually, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, Health Savings Account contributions, 401(k), quarterly weekend benefits, vacation and medical leave. Furnished, on-site housing provided with utilities and internet.

- Experience Required: Minimum one year of fish culture/hatchery experience in a lead role preferred
Essential Functions:
- Manage hatchery maintenance ensuring facility and equipment readiness.
- Perform standby duties and respond to emergencies and alarms.
- Assist with broodstock collection, spawning, and routine fish culture activities such as feeding, egg incubation, monitoring, and fish release.
- Maintain hatchery performance records, water quality measures, and oversee monthly APDES water quality sampling.
- Supervise Fish Culturists and Fisheries Technicians.
- Conduct safety inspections and training, ensuring safe operational practices.
- Serve as acting site manager in the Hatchery Manager’s absence.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fishery biology, fish culture methods, and basic construction techniques.
- Mechanical aptitude and boating proficiency required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong physical condition; able to lift 50 lbs and work in cold, wet conditions for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Remote outdoor work environment with varied weather conditions.
- Extensive physical labor, boating activities, and communal living conditions.
- Regular rotational standby duties.
