Description:
Nemacolin is seeking an energetic, animal-loving Wildlife Coordinator to join its resort team. This role is part zookeeper, part trail guide, and part educator—perfect for someone who thrives outdoors, loves working with animals, and wants to create magical, memorable experiences for guests. The position includes the daily care of exotic and domestic animals and leading interactive tours and activities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead guided trail rides, safari tours, animal shows, and feeding demonstrations
- Provide care for diverse animals including lions, tigers, bears, bison, wolves, reptiles, sloths, and more
- Prepare and administer animal diets and basic medical treatment
- Maintain clean, organized barns, habitats, and enclosures
- Ensure accurate animal records
- Interact professionally with guests, answering questions and enhancing their experience
- Assist in pony and trail ride operations, including scheduling and equipment prep
- Operate carts and safari vans around property
Requirements:
- High school diploma required; degree in Wildlife, Biology, or Animal Science preferred
- Animal care experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and stand/work outdoors for long periods
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Must love animals, teamwork, and being part of a resort atmosphere
