Requirements:

  • Experience or willing to gain experience teaching or working with children
  • Desire to work with and respond to the needs of children of different ages and personalities
  • Willing to learn about natural ecosystems, native wildlife, and conservation issues
  • Creative and willing to use different teaching styles to promote an engaging atmosphere for campers
  • Ability to work well on a team or alone on projects
  • Behave in a professional, respectful manner when representing the Foundation
  • Flexible and willing to perform all duties as directed

Responsibilities:

    • Lead engaging camp activities like science education, nature exploration, nature based arts and crafts and outdoor sporting skills such as Archery.
    • Actively monitor campers during activities, ensuring their safety and addressing any potential hazards
    • Act as a positive role model for campers, fostering personal growth and development
    • Teach two, week-long summer day camps that meet the mission of the Foundation and follow the best practices in the field of environmental education and interpretation
    • Maintain open communication with the camp staff and supervisor, providing updates on camper needs
    • Administer basic first aid as needed and report any injuries to the camp leadership
    • Assist with maintaining and organization of camp facilities
