Description:
Join the DBCA’s Swan Region team as the Regional Leader for Sustainable Forest Management, overseeing ecologically sustainable practices across forested and natural landscapes. This leadership role involves strategic planning, environmental assessments, interagency coordination, and community engagement to ensure long-term sustainability of the region’s forest resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate ecologically sustainable forest management and environmental impact assessments
- Provide strategic leadership, budget oversight, and set program priorities
- Oversee standards and monitor work quality for restoration and forestry operations
- Lead stakeholder liaison including community groups, Aboriginal groups, and government agencies
- Represent the region in key forest management discussions
Selection Criteria:
- Extensive experience in forest management planning, environmental assessments, and strategic land use planning
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders and community groups
- Leadership experience including team management and performance improvement
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial oversight, and administrative processes
