As a Regional Environment Manager, you will lead the sustainability agenda across a varied project portfolio in Southern England. Overseeing a team of Environment Advisors, you will guide project leaders and delivery teams in best practices, compliance, and innovation within environmental management.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Provide expert environmental sustainability advice across multiple construction projects.
- Team Development: Manage, mentor, and support Environmental Advisors to ensure consistent delivery of environmental requirements.
- Project Delivery: Oversee environmental performance from pre-construction through to project completion.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary escalation point for environmental challenges and provide technical support across the region.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards, and compliance with governance processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with consent-granting bodies to secure approvals and manage regulatory requirements.
- Innovation & Best Practice: Capture lessons learned, produce case studies, and advance sustainability initiatives.
- Incident & Risk Management: Lead investigations of environmental incidents and coordinate emergency response.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing: Deliver workshops and training sessions to promote environmental best practices.
- Industry Representation: Represent Laing O’Rourke in industry forums to stay at the forefront of sustainability trends.
About You
Experience:
- Proven experience managing environmental performance on construction projects.
- Strong understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and sustainability assessment tools such as BREEAM and LEED.
Leadership:

Motivational leader with coaching and mentoring skills to empower teams.
Adaptability:

Positive and proactive in managing change and evolving sustainability standards.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Membership in a professional body such as IEMA, IES, or CIEEM is preferred.
Flexibility:

Willingness to travel to various project sites within the region.
