Position Overview
The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust is seeking a Project Officer to support peatland restoration across the Lincolnshire region within the Natural Character Area (NCA39). This role is part of a larger collaborative effort in the Humberhead Levels, including partnerships with counterparts in Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire.
The successful candidate will bring a proactive attitude and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders to create large-scale nature recovery initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Support and coordinate peatland restoration and monitoring in a lowland setting.

Engage with land managers, local authorities, and partner organizations.

Advocate for the ecological and climate importance of peatlands.

Work within the frameworks of the Environment Act and the Environmental Improvement Plan.

Promote the role of healthy peatlands in England’s Net Zero ambitions, water management, and heritage preservation.
Essential Qualifications and Experience

Sound knowledge of environmental legislation and government environmental strategy in England.

Understanding of peatland ecosystems and their contribution to climate goals.

Experience in partnership working, advocacy, and project management.

Strong communication skills and a passion for ecological restoration.

Relevant environmental qualification or equivalent professional experience.

A valid UK driving licence.
