Description:
Prospect Park Alliance seeks a Park Naturalist to lead engaging, inquiry-based nature programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center and Pop-Up Audubon sites. This role is ideal for someone passionate about environmental education, urban nature, and community engagement. Programs range from birding tours and animal feedings to fishing clinics and nature hikes, delivered to diverse public audiences including families and children.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead nature programs at the Audubon Center and Pop-Up sites
  • Deliver weekend programs including birdwatching, hikes, and fishing clinics
  • Serve as a park steward and provide visitor information
  • Assist with Center operations and support research and educational content development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental studies, education, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year experience in environmental education or similar field
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Comfortable with outdoor work and physical activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs
  • COVID-19 vaccination required prior to employment
  • Familiarity with local wildlife, landscape ecology, and conservation practices
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft Office
