Job Summary
The Conservation Fundraising Specialist will support NWTF’s conservation mission in Colorado by growing fundraising revenue and membership. This role manages fundraising events, supports local chapters, and builds relationships with donors, volunteers, and partners to support large-scale conservation initiatives. The position reports to the Director of Field Operations (DFO) West and is remote with in-state travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and expand a diverse portfolio of fundraising efforts and chapter development across Colorado.
- Identify and cultivate major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Respond promptly to donor and volunteer inquiries.
- Recruit new volunteers and major donors.
- Promote NWTF’s mission through social media and outreach.
- Sustain existing NWTF local chapters and events through leadership and recruitment.
- Establish new NWTF chapters and fundraising events in underrepresented areas.
- Meet annual fundraising and budget targets.
- Ensure compliance with NWTF reporting and operational procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date contact information in NWTF’s database.
- Communicate regularly with NWTF staff, volunteers, chapter leaders, and the State Board of Directors.
- Support the State Chapter and Super Fund development with state partners and agencies.
- Represent NWTF in communities, media, and events to raise awareness.
- Attend annual conventions, regional meetings, and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening) skills.
- Proven ability to solicit and secure major gifts.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and planning capabilities.
- Familiarity with digital fundraising tools and systems.
- Ability to travel extensively and maintain a home office.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Physical Requirements
- Extended periods working at a desk and on a computer.
- Frequent travel by car.
- Outdoor work with varied weather and terrain.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Salary

Minimum Annual Salary: $65,000
