Position Summary:

KLA is hiring a Community Engagement & Communications Manager to lead its Engagement & Communications Team. The role involves managing a variety of public engagement and communications strategies for local government clients, with an emphasis on equity, innovation, and measurable impact in climate planning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead KLA’s Engagement & Communications Team.
  • Design and implement equitable community engagement strategies.
  • Identify audiences, partners, and appropriate outreach tactics.
  • Facilitate community engagement activities (e.g., surveys, focus groups, workshops).
  • Develop communication materials and messaging campaigns.
  • Manage advisory groups for client climate action plans.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Develop new service offerings.
  • Support business development through networking, conference prep, and marketing.

  • KLA remains a leader in equitable public engagement.
  • Team integrates cutting-edge engagement and communication methods.
  • Engagement outcomes are meaningfully reflected in climate action plans.

8. Required Qualifications:

  • 5–10 years of experience in public engagement or communications (preferably with a focus on climate or sustainability).
  • Experience managing staff, clients, and projects.
  • Proven record of designing and implementing equitable engagement.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience translating scientific data into accessible language.
  • Expertise in survey development and analysis.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and eager to grow in a dynamic environment.

9. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a consulting firm environment.
  • Knowledge of local government systems and processes.
  • Design skills (InDesign, Adobe Suite).
  • Experience managing behavior change campaigns.

10. Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year
  • Benefits Include:
    • 401(k) plan (eligible after 90 days)
