Unwrapped: How to Get Plastic Off Our Food
About this event
Plastic Pollution Coalition hosts a webinar on the risks of plastic food packaging and how to remove plastic from food systems. Around 95% of grocery packaging is designed for a single use and can release microplastics and harmful chemicals into food. The discussion frames getting plastic off our tables as a policy problem rather than a matter of personal choice. Speakers are Alexandra Bookis, Outreach Director for Government Affairs, Environmental Working Group (EWG); Sybil Bullock, Senior Oceans Campaigner, Greenpeace USA; and Rachel Bustamante, Policy Manager, Plastic Pollution Coalition. The webinar is moderated by Julia Cohen, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Plastic Pollution Coalition.
