BIICL Short Course: Law of the Sea

BIICL is again convening its flagship short course on the Law of the Sea, a practice-oriented introduction to the international law of the sea and the challenges facing the world’s oceans and seas. The course is delivered by a mix of academic and practitioner experts, and participants gain a working understanding of the main sources of the law of the sea, examined and applied across a range of contexts including marine environment protection, climate change, vulnerable species management, the governance of global commons, offshore energy, deep-sea mining, human rights at sea, and the peaceful settlement of maritime disputes.

It is aimed at people working on ocean governance issues or for whom ocean governance forms an important part of their work, including those in national and sub-national government, NGOs, legal practice, companies and academia, students included.
