7th International Marine Debris Conference (7IMDC)

Date: Sunday, 18th of September to Friday, 23rd of September, 2022

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea (MOF), in collaboration with the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation (KOEM) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), are very pleased to announce that the 7th International Marine Debris Conference (7IMDC), the world’s largest and longest-running conference series dedicated to the issue of marine debris and plastic pollution, will take place from 18-23 September 2022 in Busan, Republic of Korea.

The call for Technical Session proposals for the conference has been launched and will be open until 07 January 2022. Technical Sessions will form the core of the conference agenda and will be organized around 12 thematic tracks. Session proposals will be evaluated on technical merit, interest and relevance to the greater marine debris and plastic pollution community, and ability to show multi-sectoral and/or multi-stakeholder engagement and cooperation.
