
Nurse sharks rest beneath a dock in the Bahamas. When the fishermen return, they clean their catch and dispose of any parts they don’t want into the water. Despite being free to roam, these sharks have learned how to scavenge an easy meal from humans and no longer need to search for food in the wild.

Karim was published in National Geographic magazine for his humpback whale photography. He now leads his own trips so that others can swim with whales.
