Wildlife and Habitat Management Paid Intern (2 positions available)
Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Position Summary:
Ridge & Valley Habitat Management LLC is seeking two summer interns for 2025. The company manages approximately 5,000 acres across Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee, focusing on game management and native habitat conservation. This internship offers hands-on experience with various habitat management techniques and population monitoring practices. No prior field experience is required, but an enthusiasm for learning is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Invasive plant management using mechanical and chemical treatments
2. Bobwhite quail and songbird surveys
3. Restoring riparian areas and field borders
4. Monitoring white-tailed deer populations
5. Maintenance of firebreaks, roads, and hunting blinds
6. Wildlife food plot upkeep
7. Timber stand improvements and prescribed burning
8. Collaborating effectively with coworkers
9. Building positive relationships with landowners

Desired Skills:
Experience with equipment such as tractors, skid steers, mulching machines, chainsaws, wood chippers, handheld GPS, and ATVs is a plus but not required.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor in Georgia’s summer heat
• Valid driver’s license
• Availability for regular hours (7:30 AM–4:30 PM), with occasional overtime as needed
• On-site housing available if required
