Salary/Compensation: $1,000 per month

Education Required: Some Undergraduate coursework preferred/required.
Experience Required: Basic knowledge/experience in ranch work (fencing, animal husbandry, equipment) required.
We’re a working Hill Country ranch seeking a motivated and energetic summer intern for a hands-on, immersive experience. This internship is physically demanding but highly rewarding and educational for anyone looking to gain real-world knowledge in Whitetail deer breeding, cattle operations, and ranch management.
Intern Responsibilities Include:
- Tagging and caring for newborn Whitetail fawns
- Accurate and detailed fawn notes
- Monitoring and recording deer and cattle health
- Assisting with daily ranch chores, feeding, and care
- Learning the day-to-day operations of ranch management
- Helping with fencing, habitat improvements, and general maintenance
- Operating and maintaining small equipment and vehicles
- Maintain the lodge, cabin and deer facility
- Be a team player
Ideal Candidate:
- Energetic, motivated, and eager to learn
- Willing to work long hours in all weather conditions
- Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Punctual, honest, and dependable
- Strong work ethic and good common sense
- Basic knowledge of fencing, animal husbandry, infrastructure, tagging, and equipment maintenance
- No drug or alcohol use during the internship
