Position Overview
Salary/Compensation: $1,250 per month stipend

Essential Functions
- Assist in mist net operations and banding procedures
- Monitor and extract birds, record data accurately
- Lead K–12 field trips and public bird walks
- Conduct outreach and create educational content
- Maintain field equipment and organize logistics
- Enter and summarize field data per ASI protocol
- Interact with volunteers and the general public
Qualifications
Required:
- Interest in ornithology and science education
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to make safe decisions in wildlife interactions
- Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends
- Physical stamina to walk through vegetation, wade water, and carry 25lbs
Preferred:
- Experience with bird handling, public education, or fieldwork
- Familiarity with community-based research settings
- Access to a bicycle or vehicle for commuting

Working Conditions
- Mostly outdoors in varied weather with high insect activity
