- Education Required: Advanced degree in agricultural economics, agribusiness, rural development, or related field (with specialization in climate/sustainability topics preferred)
- Experience Required: At least 10 years in sustainable supply chains, rural inclusive business, and public-private partnerships
Essential Functions:
Project Management (20%)
- Develop and monitor project work plans, schedules, and budgets
- Oversee field-level implementation of the RESET soybean initiative
- Ensure alignment with MEL framework and timely donor reporting
Technical Direction (50%)
- Conduct value chain analyses and climate-resilient agribusiness interventions
- Support market systems development and financial assessments for climate adaptation
- Build partnerships with private sector actors, certification bodies, and LGAs
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Knowledge Sharing (15%)
- Work with M&E Officer on tools, data collection, and impact evaluation
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and innovations
- Produce case studies and communication materials
Programme Development (15%)
- Identify strategic priorities and funding opportunities in CSA and agribusiness
- Support integration of complementary projects and scale-up opportunities
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of climate-smart agriculture (CSA), sustainable value chains, and inclusive market systems
- Proven record of managing cross-sector partnerships and large-scale rural projects
- Skilled in fundraising, capacity building, and results-based reporting
- Familiarity with nature-based solutions is a plus
Language:
- Fluent in English; Kiswahili proficiency is a strong asset
Working Conditions:
- Field-intensive role with travel across Iringa and Morogoro regions
- Based in IUCN Iringa hub office, under the SUSTAIN II Programme
- Collaborative setting within a multicultural and multidisciplinary team
