Salary: $17.00–$19.00 per hour (DOE/DOQ)
Position Summary:
The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs is hiring Seasonal Fisheries Technicians to join a team focused on habitat restoration and conservation projects. This role involves working on both Nursery Crew and Field Crew tasks to support ecological restoration efforts across John Day River Basin sites and tribal conservation properties.
Position Details:
- Duration: Seasonal position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Nursery Crew Tech Tasks:
- Care for native plant stock, including weeding, watering, fertilizing, and transplanting.
- Maintain irrigation systems and perform shrub/tree trimming and pruning.
- Conduct weed control using hand-pulling and herbicide application.
- Complete grounds maintenance, such as mowing, edging, and raking.
- Participate in seed collection and out-plant native plants at restoration sites.
- Maintain equipment, including UTVs, mowers, string trimmers, and water pumps.
- Field Crew Tech Tasks:
- Collaborate on habitat enhancement projects.
- Assist with installation of spring developments, juniper felling, and hand-piling.
- Plant trees (up to three months/year) and manage noxious weeds with herbicides and mowers.
- Repair and build fences; operate and maintain shop and field equipment.
- Operate and maintain ATVs, skid steers, and backhoes as needed.
Requirements:
- Ability to work while standing, sitting, kneeling, and performing frequent bending and lifting.
- Capable of lifting/moving up to 50 lbs with reasonable accommodation.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather.
- Some weather-specific clothing will be provided, depending on task requirements.
