Position Overview
Salary/Compensation: $20 per hour
Application Deadline: June 15, 2025
Starting Date: Between June 1 and June 30, 2025
Ending Date: Between September 21 and October 19, 2025
Hours per Week: 40 hours (Full-Time)
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in museum studies, history, anthropology, or related field
Experience Required: None
Key Responsibilities:
- Catalog museum objects, complete inventories, and maintain records
- Upgrade storage environments (create boxes, mounts, supports)
- Conduct Integrated Pest Management and environmental monitoring
- Assist researchers and curators; support outreach and exhibit efforts
- Perform housekeeping of collections and condition reporting
- Write progress reports and ensure compliance with NPS museum standards
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and capable of independent work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in high temperatures when needed
- Comfortable with technical writing and effective verbal communication
- Ability to wear a half-face respirator when necessary
- Completion of a Department of Interior (DOI) Background Investigation
