INSITE Programme

  • Salary/Compensation: Fixed daily rate: £170 for Members, £230 for Chair
  • Application Deadline: 11 May 2025

  • Hours per Week: As needed based on meeting schedules and programme milestones
  • Education Required: Advanced degree in marine science, environmental policy, or related field strongly preferred
  • Experience Required: Extensive experience in environmental research, marine policy, or stakeholder engagement

Essential Functions:

  • Guide the INSITE Programme’s scientific direction and uphold scientific independence
  • Assess scientific excellence and research impact related to Marine Artificial Structures (MAS)
  • Collaborate independently of institutional affiliations
  • Provide strategic input on research priorities, methods, and dissemination

For Chair Role Only:

  • Lead the SAG, ensuring high standards and member mentoring
  • Organize and run SAG meetings with Programme Director (PD) support
  • Resolve split decisions and guide consensus
  • Support PD in member replacement and SAG continuity

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership and expertise in marine science, environmental governance, or offshore infrastructure
  • Strong communication and decision-making abilities
  • Familiarity with science-policy interface and cross-sector collaboration

Working Conditions:

  • Remote meetings with occasional in-person engagements as needed
  • Engagement expected across both Phase 3 operational stages: research and impact phases
