
INSITE Programme
- Salary/Compensation: Funding range from £50,000 to £500,000 depending on scope and breadth of tender response.

Essential Functions:
Submit proposals under one or more of the following tender areas:
- Decommissioning Effects
- Comprehensive review of short-term effects of various decommissioning strategies for subsea oil and gas structures.
- Recommend environmental variables for future decision-making.
- Fate of Pipelines
- Investigate long-term impact of materials from decommissioned pipelines.
- Include literature synthesis, breakdown studies, and dispersal modelling over multiple time frames (0–100+ years).
- Social Attitudes & Perceptions
- Explore public perception and awareness of offshore decommissioning.
- Assess how new information influences public and stakeholder attitudes.
Qualifications:
- Strong interdisciplinary research capability across marine ecology, policy, social science, and ocean engineering.
- Experience with multi-year environmental studies and stakeholder engagement.
- Capacity to deliver peer-reviewed research outputs by March 2027.
Working Conditions:
- Remote and institutional research with potential fieldwork depending on topic.
- European collaboration and data sharing expected.
- Projects will be supported through INSITE’s structured programme framework.
