  • Salary/Compensation:
    • Grade B: £47,428 – £54,424 per annum
    • Grade A: £56,716 – £65,084 per annum
    • Plus 25% gratuity, relocation support, flights, housing allowance, and 41 days paid leave

  • Ending Date: Up to 4-year fixed-term contract
  • Hours per Week: 37.5
  • Education Required: BSc in Marine Science, Fisheries Management, or related subject OR equivalent senior experience
  • Experience Required:
    • Minimum 10 years in fisheries-related leadership OR 10 years managing personnel in related fields
    • Candidates with 7+ years may qualify under Grade B description

Essential Functions:

  • Manage Falkland Islands licensed fisheries using science, compliance, and stakeholder input
  • Lead monitoring and control of the Falkland Island Conservation Zones
  • Support the Deputy Director and Director of Natural Resources in meeting strategic goals
  • Guide evidence-based decision-making and fisheries policy
  • Supervise a team responsible for regulatory compliance and marine surveillance

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of fisheries science and management practices
  • Proven leadership and staff management experience
  • Ability to work under pressure while balancing multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
