Salary: $24 per hour


Position Summary:
Azura Consulting LLC is hiring an Environmental Policy Analyst to support NOAA’s Office of Sustainable Fisheries (OSF) in managing national fisheries policy. This remote, full-time position (40 hours per week) requires strong attention to detail, independent work management, and client communication.

Candidates must be self-motivated, able to meet short project deadlines, and proficient in policy analysis, technical writing, and project management. Some travel for in-person meetings may be required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit technical documentation following Office of Federal Register standards.
  • Provide support in data management, inventory, accessibility, and archival compliance.
  • Assist NOAA Fisheries in defining project milestones, tracking budget/resource needs, and providing general project management support.
  • Analyze business processes to improve NOAA Fisheries operations.
  • Ensure compliance with policy directives and record maintenance requirements.
  • Develop national policy guidance for environmental rulemakings to ensure compliance with NEPA, MSA, MMPA, ESA, and other regulations.
  • Track and report NMFS regulatory actions, ensuring accuracy in communications with NMFS leadership and the Department of Commerce General Counsel.
  • Support ongoing projects with evolving priorities, adjusting daily tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Management, Geography, Oceanography, Marine Ecology, Political Science, or related fields.
  • At least two years of experience in federal environmental regulations.
  • Experience working with government agencies, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Ability to independently manage administrative tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, written, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Google Suite.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance, requiring a federal background check.
