  • Education Required: University-level academic qualification and mandatory CIA or Chartered Accountancy/CPA. CISA, CISM, CFE, and corporate governance qualifications desirable.
  • Experience Required: Minimum 10 years progressive experience in internal/external audit, risk management, and corporate governance at an executive level, with significant internal audit experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive, risk-based internal audit program aligned with IIA standards.
  • Prepare and update internal audit charters and strategic audit plans.
  • Establish and manage a quality assurance program for audit operations, including periodic independent external evaluations.
  • Conduct necessary investigations and report findings effectively.
  • Formulate and implement professional internal audit policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate audit activities with internal and external assurance providers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in audit functions, governance, risk management, and internal control systems.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities in multi-cultural environments.

Working Conditions:

  • International travel required.
  • Position based at the headquarters of one of the Audit Asia member Centres (Penang, Manila, or Colombo).
