Join us to hear from Kai Tran, a Youth Leadership Councilmember with EarthEcho International as he speaks on the various ways that young people can work in their local community to become effective ocean advocates!

Kai Tran is a graduate student at Duke University pursuing a Master of Environmental Management with a concentration in Community Engagement & Environmental Justice. Outside of his studies, Kai serves as a Southeast Young Leaders Councilmember for the National Parks Conservation Association and a Youth Leadership Councilmember (YLC) for EarthEcho International. Through his role as a YLC for EarthEcho, Kai has advocated and campaigned for the recently designated Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary (CHNMS), the first ever indigenously nominated and led National Marine Sanctuary. Kai’ s efforts in campaigning for the CHNMS have been recognized by The White House and the America the Beautiful for All Coalition, the largest conservation coalition in the United States.
